There’s just something about having paste smeared between two crispy wafers that seems perfect. Sure, there’s nothing complex going on here. But for a snacky lunch, I’ll take it anytime.
I realize that nobody is really doing this whole lunch thing anymore. But, I thought I’d have a little fun with it today.

Chicken Tikka Masala from the Whole Foods frozen food section
No one would likely mistake this for it’s fresh, served-by-a-friendly-waiter-with-an-accent counterpart. It has an odd bitter aftertaste in the sauce that I’m also not a big fan off. However, as far as frozen Indian foods go, it’s a fair lunch. I unfortunately made the mistake of letting it get a bit cold (mainly while taking a few photos, natch). So, yet another minute in the microwave before finishing it down.

Turkey, Brie, & Apple Sandwich
Turkey,  brie, and apple sandwich with cranberry dressing. Served with mustard on a crusty italian hoagie. Consumed with chips and a Cherry Coke.
I wouldn’t normally have given this sandwich a try, but Dave convinced me to have one for lunch today. I’m so glad he did, because it was amazingly good. Sweet, but not too much. The turkey was served warm which really just made it seem like a Thanksgiving dinner on a hoagie roll.
Trey: You must go try this sandwich.

Sunday Brunch Again

Hey I totally forgot to tell you what I had for lunch on Sunday! Hey! Listen to this! The chef at Martin Wine Cellar took a big ol croissant and split it in half and FRENCH TOASTED IT which was beyond a fantastic idea. I wanted to share it but you weren’t there.

I think I had peanut butter and jelly for lunch. However, I’m not really sure. There was someone there distracting me. I know that she had PB&J but she wouldn’t share.

I think she may have stolen part of my sandwich too. I can’t yet prove this.

Los cubanos make good sandwiches, right?

The corner grocery about three blocks down from our place sells sandwiches at lunch. One of those sandwiches is the cuban, and man, it’s been a long time since I had a good cuban.

Before today, that is.

Because today I got that flat-pressed grilled delight filled with roast beast and ham and cheese and a little bit of pickle.

Mmmmmm.

Cuban.
